The doctor can be a scary place for kids. In the best case, they get poked and prodded, and in the worst they get shots, blood draws, and nasal swabs. Processing these experiences often involves doctor related play.

This game helps children be the doctor and care for a sick child of their own. There are a variety of doctor tools available to them:

  • Stethoscope for listening to hearts and lungs.
  • Digital thermometer for taking temperatures.
  • Otoscope for looking in ears and eyes and mouths.
  • Tongue depressor for checking mouths.
  • Syringe for giving shots.
  • A jar of bandaids for sticking all over the child and the room.
  • Nasal swabs for putting in noses and ears.
  • A jar of dreaded pink medicine.

By playing with these tools, children can understand what each one does and why they’re important.
